From walking to running 30 minutes nonstop to running a 5K (3.1 miles), this class equips you to take your workout to the next level while also teaching you skills like how to prepare for a race and how to avoid running-related injuries.

This class is specially formulated for 5K runners who need to increase their running base before beginning the training class for the Joplin Memorial Half. It is also a great fit for anyone who wants to increase their mileage.
With group training for all running levels, this class will prepare you to go the distance at the Joplin Memorial Half this year! Perfect for first-time half-marathon runners, each class will begin with training clinics on topics like speed work, fueling and race preparation.

Get your child plugged into our area’s young running community! The Joplin Family YMCA’s kid’s running clinics will guide children as they train for the Joplin Memorial Kid’s Fun Run on May 19, teaching them stretching, pacing and safe running techniques.
This year, your child can complete a marathon of their very own! Each individual square represents 1/4 mile on the Joplin Memorial Marathon race route. Complete all but the final mile before race day, and then finish the marathon with the Kid’s Fun Run on May 19!
